My health update- IBS?

This post is a bit TMI- don't read if its a bit to grim for you!

So, today I had a call with my gynaecology doctor. A over the phone appointment due to the corona virus. It was great to just chat to her about everything and all the new or continuing symptoms, to get more advice.

My most recent symptoms have been mainly to do with my bowels which have then therefore, caused endometriosis flare ups. My bowel movements have been all over the place- either constipation or diarrhoea and the pain has been excruciating. So after consulting with my doctor, she mentioned that there could be a number of triggers that can cause this. The most probable one for me because of my endometriosis, is IBS. So her advice is to be careful on not consuming too much dairy, gluten, fatty foods and sugary foods. Many people suffer from IBS and its a case of finding what triggers your bowel movements. So I am going to focus on what I'm eating and what could potentially be making it worse for me.

But also despite this, stress and anxiety also has a massive effect on anyones bowel movements. So due to the current situation, its understandable that my bm may not be normal. Same with how stress can make pain worse. This is a bit grim but I do have mucus come from my bum- I know its gross and a bit too much info. I need to keep an eye on this, if it doesn't clear within a few months after trying to help my IBS- I will need to see my gastro doctor again. My dad passed away from bowel cancer, so Ive always been good with checking everything is ok down there. I know if I notice any blood I need to see my doctor as it can potentially be serious. But I am not worried, my doctor was amazing on the phone and extremely helpful and reassuring.

One final point, I must keep drinking enough fluid, eating high fibre foods and keep moving. I must focus on doing my pelvic pain exercises as it can help ease the pain and pressure.

These are my tips so far, I will keep you updated. Please give me any tips or advice you have!!
