Medication

I am on a wide amount of medication whereas others don't need to take anything and can manage. I, as previously stated, have tried a number of methods that may help the pain such as diet and heat. Hot water bottles are definitely a life saver but I still need tablets on the daily.

I had the mirena coil inserted during my laparoscopy (key hole surgery to determine if I have endometriosis), they burnt the endo away before inserting there coil. Due to constant heavy bleeding I now take two mini pills (desogestrol) a day to stop me bleeding and therefore reducing the pain. I also take pregabalin which is an anti-anxiety but I take it to relax my nerves and reduce the signals going to my brain. This further reduces my pain. I also take an anti-depressant and levothyroxine for my underachieve thyroid. Finally, I have asthma so I also take two inhalers a day. Its a lot of medication but it keeps my body working. Yes, I hate taking so much but I'm grateful for how far I've come. Its been an incredibly long process and is still on going but for now its manageable.

Without this medication I wouldn't be able to work, or function on a daily basis. Before all of this I was spending days drugged up on pain medication, on the sofa not being able to move.

I still have my tablets for the pain when it gets worse; I use mefenamic acid, codeine, paracetamol and tramadol if its really bad. I have taken morphine in the past but now I try exercises and paracetamol before taking stronger tablets. I also use hot water bottles, heat pads and a tens machine.

It does take a long time to find tablets that work for you, and I've had to accept the process. But I'm hoping theres a time in which I feel completely back to normal.
